Updates: The Diva’s Tea Party, Laila-Dog, and My Favorite Sister Act Character

So, it’s time for a few updates.  Hang on. Here we go.

1. The Diva’s Tea Party was on Saturday.  She and her girlfriends had a ball.  NG2 and I needed a nap. Here are the pics:

The Girls, ahem, Ladies

The Aubrey Rose does it right!

A Multitude of Divas

The Bill

The Aftermath

Oh, and here’s the funny part.

The magic is gone.

She saved my life.  She’s wonderful!

2. Laila-dog

She’s in Tennessee. PTL! So, my friends Sam and Maria arrived at 4:30am to get us (3 girls, 12 bags, 1 AinW, and one, large dog) on Saturday, April 3. They got us to the airport, we parked, and Sam and the nice, curbside guy loaded the dog onto a rolling cart.  We got to the ticket counter, and Richard, the WONDERFUL ticket agent, processed us right through.

No, he did not measure my $117 kennel.

No, he did not check my $107 veterinary paperwork.

No, he did not weigh the dog I’d had on a diet for weeks.

No, he didn’t get any closer than 10 feet away from her.

But the TSA man did.

Get near her.

Got one look inside her kennel, look at me wide-eyed, and asked me to take her out. He was a very large, very muscular man, and, I’m not sure, but I think he was scared of her.

I took her out, he looked in the kennel, and that was that.

Seriously?  That’s it?

That’s it.

We got on the plane, and she got to Tennessee without a hitch.

And, girl, is she loving being a country dog. I swear sometimes I think homegirl’s smiling. She’s running free, riding in the back of the truck and generally annoying the wildlife. Day one? She treed my mother-in-law’s cat.  Absolutely hilarious!

In short? Crisis averted. Resume normal activity.

3. My Favorite Sister Act Character

NG2 loves Sister Act. Since she was such a gem at the party (above), we watched it with her this weekend.  Here’s my favorite character:

Sister Mary Patrick.

Come on, the scene in the biker bar where she plays the jukebox and is dancing? That’s about the funniest thing I’ve seen this week.

I thought you should know.

AinW over and out.

  1. I am so sad that I missed this year’s party. It looks like soooooo much fun. You are a true blessing to our children.

I like the scene where Whoopie is discussing the vowes that every nun must take with the Rev. Mom. She says, “Every nun must take three vowes…”
    Whoopie, “Yes?”
    “The vow of poverty”
    “ok”
    “The vowe of obedience”
    “Fine.”
    “And the vowe of chastity.”
    “I am outa here!”

…”Gimme Gimme Gimmie Gimmie gravy tonight…”

  2. Oh, how I’m loving being a little speck in your adventure! And let me tell you–you better frame that birthday tea bill because that’s the smallest one you’ll see from now on, believe me…

    Driving school
    Driving license
    Car Insurance
    Graduation stuff
AP Tests (oops. Remembering I still need to pay for that one)
    Grad party
    College applications
    College tuition (ouch)

I’m seriously considering starting a wedding fund ;/

Love Sister Mary Patrick too 🙂
